Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer
respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will
conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and
response to, therapy.
- You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically
ventilated patients
- You will administer and monitor respiratory care
treatments
- You will record pertinent information in patient's medical
record
- You will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and
monitoring
- You will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and
calibration of respiratory care equipment as required
- You will function as respiratory care protocol assessorJob
QualificationsExperience
- 1-3 years of experience
- Acute care hospital experience - preferredEducation
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of approved respiratory certification program or
sufficient college credits to qualify for certification exam -
preferredLicenses and Certifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the
National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of
Texas
- Registered Respiratory Therapist exam must be taken and passed
within 6 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's
HealthCare policy
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St.
David's HealthCare policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as per St.
