Location: Onsite - Austin, TX
Rate: $28 - $36.50/hr W2

A leading semiconductor company in Austin is seeking an experienced Memory Validation Technician to support validation and debug efforts for AMD server systems. This hands-on role involves hardware/software testing, failure triage, system bring-up, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure platform readiness.

Responsibilities

Perform hardware and software testing to identify functional issues/failures on AMD server platforms


Build out new test platforms including hardware and software installation


Conduct initial failure debug, triage, and interpret log files


Track inventory and maintain status of lab equipment


Document test results with detail and accuracy


Execute assigned tests in alignment with project deadlines and roadmap goals


Work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment



Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 5+ years in PC hardware and software validation


Strong troubleshooting and debug experience with PC hardware/software


Familiarity with motherboard architecture, BIOS flashing, and system register interpretation


Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers


Proficiency in Linux and Windows OS installation and driver support


Experience developing Python or other scripting languages


Intermediate to advanced Excel and Power BI skills


Strong organizational and communication skills



Additional Qualifications

AAS/BS/BE/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field


Familiarity with DIMM terminology (type/size/speed)


Soldering experience a plus


Ability to follow direction and work autonomously when needed


Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment
